Barisan Nasional's candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi won the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat with 9,191 votes majority.

The fight for the seat was between Budiman, Dr Abdul Rani Osman (PAS) and Azhar Abdul Shukur (Amanah).

Budiman garnered 16,800 votes while Dr Abdul Rani (6,902) and Azhar (7,609) votes.

There are 42,365 voters eligible to cast their votes in Sungai Besar.

On June 14, some 265 of the 286 early voters cast their ballots at two polling centres at the Sabak Bernam District Police headquarters here.

The by-election is being held following the death of its incumbent Tan Sri Noriah Kasnon in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak, on May 5.
