PAS's decision to form a new Opposition pact with another force will not affect the Selangor state government, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

Mohamed Azmin who is also the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) said PAS's decision is in line with the democratic system in the country which allowed political parties to form pact with any party.

"In a democratic system, they can form pact and alliances, its their right and it depends whether the people will accept it or not," he said after launching the Sungai Sepang Besar Half Day River Cruise programme today.

He stressed that Selangor is committed to carry out the mandate given by the rakyat in the last general election.

"We will continue to work hard," he said.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan had earlier announced that the Islamic party will form a new opposition bloc, becoming the country's third political force.

Takiyuddin however, did not name the its new partner.
