Puteri UMNO leader Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin today said there are 50,548 members of the movement who have yet to register as voters and advised them to do so before the coming general election.

She said some of them had not registered because they had yet to reach the age of 21 to be eligible to vote and also because of their hectic schedule.

"I want all states to look into this because their votes are crucial to help Barisan Nasional to win, and also to help other women who have not registered as voters to do so," he told reporters at a meeting with Puteri UMNO branch members in Negeri Sembilan here on Sunday.

Also present was Negeri Sembilan UMNO secretary Datuk Hasim Rusdi.

Mas Ermieyati, who is Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture, said 2,034 out of more than 13,000 movement members in Negeri Sembilan who were eligible to vote had not registered as voters.

She said since Puteri UMNO was formed 16 years ago, it now had more than 400,000 members.
