Pakatan Rakyat (PR) should prove to the people that they can unite before they even dream of setting up a government where the people are united, said Sabah Umno Liaison Secretary, Datuk Seri Yahya Hussin.

He said, looking at developments in PR, the opposition pact has failed to be united even at the party level, and if they win the general election, the question would be whether the PR was capable of forming a united government.

"How can the opposition take over the government and unite the people, and show that they can become a strong government when the parties within them are bickering, with the DAP saying it did not want PAS in PR," he told reporters here Sunday.

He added that the people should look at the PR leaders in making their mind which parties were the best and capable of forming the government.

"PR is not like the Barisan Nasional (BN), but PAS, DAP and PKR each had their own agendas even though they are in one party, PR," Yahya, who is also Sabah Deputy Chief Minister and state Agriculture and Food Industry Minister, said.

He added that Umno and BN leaders and members should look at the situation as a chance for them to strengthen Umno and BN.
