Preparations for the by-election for the Rompin Parliamentary constituency tomorrow runs smoothly with several last-minute inspections being carried out today.

Pahang Election Commission director Shafie Taib said last-minute work involving inspections on the ballot boxes at the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Silver Jubilee Hall here had been carried out before the boxes were delivered to four police stations today.

The police stations involved were the Rompin District Police Headquarters (IPD), Muadzam Shah Police Station, Bandar Tun Razak Police Station, and Tekek Police Station on Pulau Tioman.

"The ballot boxes will be kept in the lock-ups at the police stations concerned, and at 6am tomorrow (Tuesday) election workers will take the ballot boxes to be delivered to the 38 polling centres in the Rompin by-election," he told Bernama here today.
