Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) decided to cooperate with the DAP to win the next general election because the party has declared it will follow the Federal Constitution.

Its chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad explained that the stance is contrary to the perception expressed by certain parties regarding the cooperation between the two parties.

"(Is) DAP really evil? After all, DAP, Amanah and PKR have expressed their stance, in which DAP and their friends will abide by the Constitution.

"They accept the position of the Rulers. They accept Islam as the official religion. They accept the special position of the Malays and Bumiputeras and accept Bahasa Melayu as the national language," he said in a press conference held at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, here today.

He added that the party's readiness to cooperate with DAP is also among the main reasons why Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali refused to join PPBM.
