Registration of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) has been approved with effect from Aug 7 under the political category, in line with the provisions of the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335), according to the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

Referring to the claim that information pertaining to the registration of the PN was not on the record, RoS in a statement today, said that the party had been registered through the issuance of registration certificate PPM-019-14-07082020 which had been approved and signed by the RoS.

"The party's registration certificate, logo and constitution have been signed and presented to the PN as soon as its registration was approved," the statement said.

Today, PKR Youth vice-chief Syed Badli Shah Syed Osman reportedly claimed that checks through the RoS website failed to show that PN is a registered entity.

RoS said the claim that information pertaining to the PN approval was not included in the RoS system was incorrect as any organisation's approval was updated in the system automatically every two months.

"The approval status of the PN will only appear on the website in early October, as it was issued in August," it said.

However, RoS said that if there was a specific search in the eROSES system it would show that PN was approved on Aug 7.

"Any party information available in the eROSES system, however, can only be accessed by the party's secretary," it added.
