The Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) will feature new faces, especially youths, as candidates in the 14th General Election (GE14), says Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir.

He said this was part of the coalition's rejuvenation process to strengthen BN's position in the state.

"Of course, to see rejuvenation in the party, we cannot deny the role of young people, including women.

"Therefore, we will see if there is an increase or change in the number of candidates but what's certain is, there will be youths as candidates in the general election," he added.

Zambry, who is also Perak BN chairman, was speaking to reporters after attending a gathering of state youth leaders, including UMNO Youth deputy chief, Khairul Azwan Harun here today.

Meanwhile, Zambry said he had held a series of meetings and training sessions with party machineries in each state division to study and resolve any weakness.

"Those quarters wanting to contest in the GE14 must be ready in all aspects because we cannot be over-condifent," he said. - BERNAMA
