The Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) does not want to intrude into the decision by Pas Syura Ulama Council in severing the party's political ties with Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Perak BN chief Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said it was also because the decision (by Pas) did not affect the unity that had been forged among the BN component parties.

"We, in principle, do not want to interfere in matters pertaining to relations among the opposition parties," he told reporters after opening the Perak Armed Forces Veterans Association''s annual delegates meeting here today.

Last May 11, the Pas Syura Council secretary Datuk Dr Muhammad Nik Zawawi Salleh announced that the party had decided to end the party''s political cooperation with PKR.

Meanwhile, Zambry said BN should not take comfort with the decision by Pas in ending its ties with PKR.

Instead, he said, all component parties in BN should work harder to ensure a bigger win in the 14th general election. - BERNAMA
