Pas will sever ties with its former ally Parti Keadilan rakyat, said Pas Syura Council secretary Datuk Dr Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh.

He cited three reasons for the Islamist party to break all ties with PKR.

The first reason, he said was PKR had opposed and did not support the party's Islamic agenda like the RUU355.

Secondly, he said, PKR went against the spirit of political cooperation and had attacked Pas leadership and made untrue claims which had tainted the party's image.

"Thirdly, PKR betrayed its political ties with Pas by working with parties that had wanted to bring down the Kelantan state government and had worked against PAS in the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections," he said in a statement.

He said the Pas central committee would handle political decisions as well as Selangor administrative matters.

Pas delegates at the 63rd Pas Muktamar this year had unanimously passed the motion to end the political collaboration with PKR.

But, the matter could only be finalised by the powerful Syura Council.

Pas ended its political collaboration with DAP in 2015.
