PAS' 63rd Muktamar (Assembly) scheduled for April 28 to May 1 in Kedah is expected to be attended by approximately 1,200 delegates with main focus on the party polls.

PAS secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said the assembly would begin on April 28 with the closed door sessions for the party president to deliver his amanat (message) and the secretary-general to give a briefing to the delegates.

He said the opening of the assembly would be held at the Kedah PAS Complex the following morning, while the party polls would take place in the afternoon.

"The election will be done via e-voting and the votes will be counted by computers. If everything runs smoothly, we will have the results later that night.

"InsyaAllah, by April 30 or May 1, PAS will have a new top leadership line-up," he told a press conference here today.

He added that the party polls would see the delegates electing for new president, deputy president, three vice-presidents, 18 Central Committee members, as well as chief, deputy chief and vice chiefs of the party's wings. - BERNAMA
