Opposition leaders must focus on the values of their struggle in winning the hearts and minds of Malay voters in the country.

PKR vice presidentl, Rafizi Ramli said 40 per cent of the Malay voters still favour Umno over the Opposition as they see the latter’s leadership as merely an alternative that is incapable to lead the government.

“We have to convince the Malay voters – 40 per cent of Malay voters still vote for Barisan Nasional (BN).

“The Opposition, activists, NGOs or the affluent people, we just do not understand the Malays as they don’t want just lip service.

“We need to look into the mirror first if we want to be valued as a political coalition, NGOs and activists that are sincere and genuinely helpful, and not just taking the opportunity to get to Putrajaya,” Rafizi told reporters at the Roundtable Discussion titled, “Selamatkan Malaysia” here today.

He stressed that the Opposition coalition is faced with an obstacle in winning the hearts of the people.

Credibility of the Opposition is at stake, stressed Rafizi.

He also added that if the Opposition coalition is able to capture 40 per cent of Malay voters who are still with Umno, it will give a 90 per cent edge for the Opposition to win at the upcoming 14th General Election.

Also present at the roundtable discussion were Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and DAP adviser, Lim Kit Siang.
