Selangor UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar has expressed disappointment over the opposition's attitude of criticising and questioning the authorities whenever their leaders are being investigated for allegations of malpractice or corruption.

He said the opposition should adopt an open attitude and be prepared to assist the authorities so that the investigations could be conducted smoothly.

"The problem with the opposition is they will only applaud whenever the authorities take action against members of Barisan Nasional.

"But when action is taken against their leaders, they will condemn and criticise the authorities as though they have never committed any offence and are clean," he told reporters here Friday.

Noh, who is also Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister, was referring to the opposition's criticism over the detention of Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat youth leader by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for investigation into his extraordinary wealth. -- Bernama
