Former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz said he was not officially informed of UMNO Supreme Council’s decision to expel him from the party.

“I only found out about it through telephone, from news channels,” he told Astro AWANI when met at a breaking of fast event at his residence today.

“When I knew about it, the news was not too surprising. I had expected it because today there is a Supreme Council meeting,” he added.

Also present at the event was former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

“Usually when a party member makes a mistake, the party’s disciplinary board will issue a show cause letter. But for Muhyiddin and Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, we were not informed of anything,” he added.

UMNO Supreme Council today announced its decision to expel Muhyiddin and Mukhriz from the party.
