MIC will be holding discussions with Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob on the hopes of the Indian community in Rompin for a temple, said its president Datuk Seri G.Palanivel.

"I will try my best to secure land of at least two acres for the construction of the temple," he told reporters after a get together with Indian voters from the Rompin parliamentary constituency in Felda Keratong 9, about 100km from here, today.

Palanivel, who is also Natural Resources and Environment Minister, said he hoped the issue can be settled as soon as possible.

On the Rompin by-election, polling of which is on May 7, he said support from Indian voters for the Barisan Nasional was very encouraging.

There are only 621 Indian voters in the constituency which is just one per cent of the 53,294 registered voters.
