The MIC has registered about 10,000 new voters throughout the country within three weeks.

Its president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the registration process began after the MIC retreat programme in Kedah ended in April and that the party would continue efforts on voter registration in all constituencies it would be contesting.

"Before the end of the month, we hope to register 20,000 more new voters," he told a press conference before chairing a meeting of MIC's the Central Working Committee at MIC headquarters here Tuesday.

In a related development, the Health Minister reiterated the party''s stand that the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat belonged to the MIC.
