MIC vice president, Datuk M. Saravanan said any party meetings or plans to hold party elections will not be done before April 15 -- the date set by the court to hear a judicial review filed by party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel in challenging the Registrar of Societies' (RoS) decision ordering MIC to hold fresh polls.
"We will need to wait until the High Court hearing on April 15. In the meantime, we will not make any party decisions including (carrying out) fresh elections," Saravanan told reporters at the MIC headquarters today.
He said the Press conference was to clear the confusion that arose from "various statements made by different people".
Saravanan, who is also Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, said High Court (Appellate and Special Powers Division) Judge Datuk Asmabi Mohamad had asked the interim central working committee (CWC), elected in the 2009 party elections, to not hold any party meetings to respect the court.

Yesterday, Saravanan and CWC member, S. Ananthan, had filed applications to be intervenors in the judicial review challenging the RoS' directive.
The applications were filed before Asmabi in chambers in the presence of all those who had filed for the judicial review.
