DAP wants PAS to state which were the seats the Islamic party had loaned to the DAP in the last general election as claimed by its Youth chief Nik Muhammad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.

DAP’s organising secretary Loke Siew Fook said the issue of seats loaned by PAS does not exist as the party’s record show that there was no talks between PAS and the party over overlapping seats.

“So I want to ask Nik Abduh which are the seats loaned to DAP in the 13th general election?,” he questioned in a statement today.

He said such false claims that the party had loaned seats to DAP and PKR would only create confusion among PAS supporters.

Reminding PAS that it won seats especially in states like Perak, Selangor and Johor due to the political cooperation with PKR and DAP, Loke urged Nik Abduh to be more responsible in his statements.

“PAS has the right to contest in any seat in the election but to make claim over loaned seats which never happened is just lies,” he said.

Yesterday, Nik Mohamad Abduh suggested that the party field its own candidates in the seats it had 'loaned' to its PKR and DAP allies in the opposition pact in the last general election.

He said PAS' experience of having worked together within the opposition pact should be taken as a lesson so that the party was not used by other parties.

"Past experience has served as a lesson. The sincere efforts of our members were taken advantage of by our colleagues for their victory and we were abandoned.

"If the party leadership takes the bold step of contesting the seats loaned to PKR and DAP in the last general election, PAS Youth pledges to do its utmost to ensure victory for PAS," he said at the PAS's muktamar.
