Nomination process ends smoothly, BN wins two seats unopposed
The Sarawak’s 11th state election today ended smoothly with Barisan Nasional winning two state seats, Bukit Sari and Bukit Kota, unopposed.
The announcement was made by Election Commission (EC) chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Hashim Abdullah at the EC’s office today.
“Two candidates won unopposed in N79 Bukit Kota Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail from the BN and N82 Bukit Sari Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan from BN,” he said at the press conference in Kuching.
In the 2011 Sarawak state election, BN did not win any seat uncontested.
Meanwhile, Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem will be challenged by PKR candidate Jazolkipli Numan for the Tanjung Datu state seat.
PBB deputy president II Datuk Abang Johari Tun Opek is facing a straight fight with PKR’s candidate Mohamad Salleh Shawakat Ali for the Satok state seat.
Voting will be held on May 7.
BN wins unopposed in 2 constituencies
Barisan Nasional won two seats unopposed when nominations for the 11th Sarawak state election closed at 10 am today.
The two seats, Bukit Sari and Bukit Kota, were won by incumbents Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan and Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, respectively.

DAP makes last-minute change of candidate at Stakan
Democratic Action Party (DAP) changed their candidate for the N17 Stakan state assembly seat at the last minute during nomination day for the 11th Sarawak State Elections.
Leslie Ting Xiang Zhi, 25, arrived at the nomination centre at 9.25am to replace Aziz Isa who was earlier announced as the party’s candidate for the seat.

Nomination process closed
The nomination centres for the 11th Sarawak State Election has officially closed at 10am.
Candidates are now waiting for the announcement from Election Commission (EC) officials on the candidates eligible to content in the May 7 election.

Nomination centres open their doors
All 82 nomination centers for the 11th Sarawak State Election open at 9am today.
The nomination process will last for about an hour until 10am.
After that, the election officer for each constituency will announce the eligible candidates who will contest in the election.
Polling is on May 7.

Contests for 82 state seats begin
After close to five year’s wait, the Sarawak 11th state election begins with the nomination day today.
Candidates will file their nomination forms at 82 nomination centres from 9am in this said-to-be the biggest state election in the history of Sarawak.
This year's election will see voting for candidates for 11 new constituencies that were created following a delineation exercise.
They are Batu Kitang, Stakan, Serembu, Bukit Semuja, Gedong, Kabong, Tellian, Bukit Goram, Murum, Samalaju and Mulu.
