Gua Musang MP Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah said he does not know if he is one of the seven UMNO leaders being probed for speaking negatively about the party.

"I am ready to face anything. I leave the matter to fate," he said when met outside Parliament today.

"I have been in the party long. Longer than them," he said adding that he has also been a member of Parliament here longer than any one else.

When asked to comment on the probe, Tengku Razaleigh said it is a normal matter in any organisation.

"All organisation has its own rules and its members abide by them. Organisations like workers union and even communist parties have their own rules," he said.

"They are investigating and tracking their members' movement. Especially in instances where the leader is weak, they will do it to ensure their members follow them," he said.

When asked if he meant UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak as the weak leader, Tengku Razaleigh denied it.

"I did not say anything. In English, what you are doing is putting words in my mouth," he added.

Yesterday, UMNO party secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said a committee is probing seven UMNO leaders who may face suspension if found to have gone against the party and its constitution.

If found guilty, the seven will also have their positions taken away, Tengku Adnan said.

He said the committee is scrutinising the matter at UMNO headquarters and once concluded, it would present its report to the party's presidential council and disciplinary board.
