The Kelantan UMNO is strengthening its election machinery to win back the state from PAS in the 14th general election.

Its liaison committee chairman, Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, said Kelantan UMNO had placed its election machinery in "election mood" to get all preparations in full gear.

"The election machinery at all 534 polling district centres (PDM) in the state are being enhanced. We find their spirit higher to see Barisan Nasional (BN) wins the election and for it to be back in power again in Kelantan in the 14th general election," he said.

He told this to reporters after opening a meeting with Kelantan PDM leaders here Saturday.

Mustapa said the Kelantan UMNO would also intensify programmes to meet the people at all levels, including through talks and dialogues.

"We are also intensifying programmes to get closer to the young people, including those staying outside the state," he added.

Also present was Kelantan UMNO deputy liaison chief Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub. -- Bernama
