The Kedah Regency Council has received the names of candidates to replace Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Tun Mahathir, indicating an imminent end to the state’s MB feud.

Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the list comprising the names as well as the latest development of the meeting with the council will be revealed soon.

“I have informed about my meeting with the chairman of the Regency Council where the proposed names on behalf of UMNO was presented to the council and the latest development will be notified later,” said Najib, after he chaired the UMNO Supreme Council meeting at Menara Dato Onn in Putra World Trade Centre, here today.

Prior to this, several news portals reported Kedah UMNO Liaison deputy chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has been touted as the most suitable candidate to replace Mukhriz.

Apart from Ahmad Bashah, Guar Chempedak state assemblyman Datuk Dr Ku Rahman Ku Ismail and Ayer Hangat state assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Rawi Abdul Hamid were also shortlisted.
