Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah will be chairing the state executive council (Exco) at the Penang General Hospital this Wednesday.

The MB's press secretary, Nahar Tajri in a WhatsApp message to media on Tuesday said the meeting will be held from 10am. A press conference is expected to take place after the meeting.

On June 4, Ahmad Bashah, 66, was rushed to the Kedah Medical Centre around 7pm, after he was unconscious during a briefing to a group of UMNO members who will assist the Barisan Nasional in the Kuala Kangsar by-election, in Mergong.

He was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit Penang General Hospital around 2.30pm on June 5.

Ahmad Bashah underwent surgery for five hours to intestinal complications the following day.
