KUALA LUMPUR:PAS Youth chief, Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz said that he is confident with the existence of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition despite DAP's declaration that it had ceased to exist effective Tuesday.

DAP's decision, said Mohamad Abduh was not the reason behind the demise of Pakatan Rakyat.

“We remain in Pakatan Rakyat … DAP’s decision was not the reason behind the demise of Pakatan Rakyat, the latter made their own decision.

“We have not left the Pakatan Rakyat coalition ... this means if the latter rejects us, we still have PKR,”, said Nik Abduh when met at Parliament Tuesday.

He also said that as long as there are two or more parties within Pakatan Rakyat, the coalition still exist.

“It's over for DAP, not PKR,” stressed Nik Abduh who is the Pasir Mas MP, adding that he is relieved that DAP had made its decision.

Pakatan Rakyat no longer exists, says DAP's Lim Guan Eng

“DAP has made its decision? That's the decision I wanted … don’t ask PAS to decide. DAP has made its own decision. PAS and PKR made their respective decisions,” he said.

He said that it depends on PKR to stay within PAS or Pakatan Rakyat ... or follow in the footsteps of DAP.

Nik Abduh also said that he is open to discussion in the quest to unite PAS within Pakatan Rakyat.

DAP Central Executive Committee on Monday held a closed-door meeting to discuss the proposal by Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera (Pasma) that a new Pakatan Rakyat be formed with a new party to replace PAS.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng in a statement said Pakatan Rakyat was formed on three parties and tied to a joint fundamental, PAS’ general assembly motion to sever ties with DAP to end Pakatan Rakyat.
