Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem hopes that Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will continue to serve as Malaysia's Prime Minister for a longer period of time.

"He loves Sarawak, he cares for us and we also love to him and hope he can became the PM until the end of the world," said Adenan during a speech at the launching of the Pan Borneo Expressway Project for the Serian-Simpang Pantu roundabout, here today.

He said, Najib is the most frequent Prime Minister who visited Sarawak - in just six years after holding the post.

According to Adenan, Najib had visited Sarawak 46 times, covering almost all corners of the state.

He said the record held by Najib is expected to continue as there are many other programs for his future visits.

"In the past six years as Prime Minister, he has visited Sarawak 46 times, more than the five previous prime ministers," said Adenan.

He said, what distinguishes Najib from other leaders is that Najib does not come empty-handed everytime he visits the state.

He said that many development projects worth billions of ringgit were approved by Najib including the construction of the Pan Borneo Expressway worth RM16 billion, enabling the people of Sarawak to enjoy a comfortable journey on the road.

He added that, despite the country's economic decline due to the drop in oil prices, Najib still approved the project in order to meet the needs of Sarawakians.

"Where else (the people of Sarawak) can find a prime minister like Najib? We had a leader who became prime minister for 22 years, but did not have the same number (of visits to Sarawak) as Najib Razak," he said.
