Former UMNO vice president, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal today insisted that he will not return to the party.

Instead, the Semporna MP said he will continue to fight for his cause.

Shafie also said that the party should not have punished him first without conducting a proper investigation.

"We're still friends in UMNO, no u-turn... I will continue with my struggle. But they had punished me first.

"It is an act that should not be happening in UMNO," he told reporters at his Aidilfitri open house in Kampung Babul, Semporna.

"(They should) Investigate first, only then punish me. If I am able to defend myself, I will explain.

He also said the allegations by Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman in a video showing him with the oppostions, is not authentic.

"Please show the video, did I say do not vote for UMNO? I questioned about the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). I was dropped from Cabinet because of that, I accept. But in UMNO, glorifying the party does not necessarily mean we have to obey the president," he added.
