Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for his trust in appointing him as the new Foreign Minister.

He said the appointment was not considered a privilege but rather a great trust that needed to be fulfilled.

"I do not consider this appointment a privilege, rather it is a great trust that I must bear with all my efforts.

"Insya-Allah, the importance of the country will continue to be my priority.

"I plead with the people to give me a chance and to pray that things would be made easier for me," he said in a post on his Twitter account on Monday.
