Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that the government to be formed later is his plan to restore the people's mandate.

He said the people had the right to have a strong and stable government and not one with a slim majority in Parliament.

"The new administration will uphold the status of Islam, the sovereignty of the Malay Rulers, upholding the Malay language and the special position of the Malay-Bumiputera besides giving the assurance to defend the rights of other races.

"The people have the right to have a strong and stable government, and it is not with a two-seat majority in Parliament," he said in a tweet on his Twitter account on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Anwar in an emergency press conference claimed that he had the support of a strong and convincing majority from members of Parliament (MPs) of various parties to form a new government in the near future.
