Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong says the party has been braced for the 14th General Election (GE14) since last year.

He said the Gerakan election machinery was already prepared for either the parliamentary or state seats.

"The Gerakan party machinery is ready for seats to be contested by the party, as well as to help candidates from the other Barisan Nasional component parties," he added.

Mah, who is also plantation industries and commodities minister was speaking to reporters after launching the Bukit Kepayang election machinery here Sunday.

Also present was Negeri Sembilan Gerakan chairman Datuk David Choong Vee Hing.

On whether the ministry would issue a circular similar to what the Information Department did to freeze the leave of officers travelling abroad on private capacity, effective May 1, Mah said the ministry had no such ruling. -- Bernama
