Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir stressed that it is up to the party leadership to determine his future as the Menteri Besar or give up the Parliamentary seat at the 14th General Election.

According to Dr Zambry, it was not his intention to vacate the seat as sensationalised by several media.

“I have been asked if I would remain as Menteri Besar or move elsewhere but I told them that it is up to the party leadership to decide.

“I can’t be saying I still want to be the Menteri Besar, I can’t say that or I don’t want the post anymore, I go to Parliament, I don’t reply that.

“What I said was, in politics, that is normal but it is up to agreement,” Dr Zambry told reporters after the launch of “Permulaan Kerja” Integrated Transporation Terminal Kampar in Kampar Putra here today.

He was asked to comment the headline featured in some dailies about his readiness to contest at Parliament level if the central leadership wants him to do so.

Dr Zambry, who is also who is also State UMNO Liaison Committee chairman, explained that it is still too early to talk about moving or his MB post.

“This is because our preparation, the party President and BN Chairman have instructed us stay focused on the upcoming election.

“At this stage, the preparation is strengthen the party machinery and to analyse the potential candidates to be the people’s representatives,” he added.

Dr Zambry also explained that Perak BN has mobilised the party machinery in preparing for the general election.
