Kedah PAS intends to contest all the 36 state and 15 parliamentary seats in the state in the next general election, said Kedah PAS commissioner Dr Ahmad Fakhrudin Sheikh Fakhrurazi.

He refuted an allegation that the party would collaborate with opposition blocs or parties, including UMNO, in the 14th General Election.

'As of now, Kedah PAS is ready to contest all the state and parliamentary seats. However, the final decision rests with the PAS Central Committee," he said in a statement here today.

He said the allegation that Kedah PAS would collaborate with the Pakatan Harapan opposition bloc or UMNO was a joke.

"It is most probably an attempt to confuse PAS members and erode their trust in the party leadership," he said.

In the 13th GE, in 2013, Kedah PAS won nine of the 24 state seats it contested as a partner of DAP and PKR in the Pakatan Rakyat pact. It lost one of the seats after Pengkalan Kundur assemblyman Datuk Phahrolrazi Zawawi joined Amanah.
