The Malaysian United Indigenous Party (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia or PPBM) is keen to be a political party responsible in reliving the glory of Malaysia.

Its chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, among the main reasons of its establishment was to obtain concerted effort and cooperation from the rakyat in forming a new government at the upcoming General Election.

“PPBM will be the component in a coalition using just one symbol, one manifesto and one candidate at each constituency.

“The Opposition coalition is ready to face a three-cornered or even more competition,” said Dr Mahathir at the launch of PPBM at Malawati Stadium here last night.

The seasoned politician also underlined several key factors championed by the party in its quest to challenge Barisan Nasional.

The rakyat is free to lodge reports and charge for any misconduct or crime; no favouritism in the country’s legislation, freedom of press and the abolition of the Government Services and Tax (GST) were among the issues to be championed by the party.

Dr Mahathir also said that PPBM will also safeguard the value of currencies without selling US Dollar in the nation’s coffer.

The launch was attended by 5,000 members including from Pakatan Harapan.

Also present were Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Keadilan Rakyat President, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, AMANAH President, Mohamad Sabu and PERKASA President, Datuk Ibrahim Ali.
