Malaysians have been urged not to be duped by opposition lies made in the run up to the 14th general election.

MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the opposition led by the DAP often used issues like racism to ensure their leaders continue to stay in power.

"During the previous general elections, they obtained the support of the public and Chinese voters were duped that it was the party which would look after them.

"They were supposed to have a good relationship with PAS, but in the end this cooperation crashed. Then they formed a coalition with Pakatan Harapan, but this too failed," he said in his speech at a public talk at Temerloh here today.

Also present were UMNO Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa, MIC Central Committee member member Datuk T. Murugiah, Temerloh UMNO division head Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin and Selangor Gerakan Deputy Speaker Syed Abdul Razak Syed Long Alsagoff.

Liow said the opposition could not reach an agreement in anything because there were no core values such as sharing, cooperation and tolerance among them. - BERNAMA
