The leadership of MIC must work harder to ensure the Indians in the country remain united for a stronger party, said Prime MInister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

The Barisan Nasional chairman who officiated the MIC's 70th annual general meeting today also urged the party's leadership to serve all Malaysians, and not just the Indian community.

"First of all, MIC as the Barisan Nasional party must bring together all the Indian parties in the country under its umbrella," he said today.

"There is an English saying that a divided house will fall. In this context, a divided party will fall.

"The same thing happened in UMNO. UMNO's representatives should serve all races otherwise we will be seen as have failed to carry out our duties," he added.
