Cut ties and forget any discussions as we refused to be sharing the stage with them ever.

Such was the sentiment of Pas deputy president, Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah after Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) announced its intention to join Pakatan Harapan.

The signal is an indication that Pas is disinterested to hold any talks to PPBM after the latter had chosen to be with its arch rival, DAP as well as Parti Amanah Negara.

“If Parti Pribumi has made its decision to join Pakatan Harapan, the ties is broken and there is no discussion whatsoever will take place after this, if that is the official stand, it is best we break the ties and not hold any discussion with PKR, we will decide at the Muktamar later,” said Mohd Amar after attending the State exco meeting here today.

PPBM chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad yesterday said that fundamentally the party has agreed to join Pakatan Harapan.

He opined that this would eventually lead to a formation of a new pact bearing a new name, logo and coalition manifesto.

Mohd Amar added that, Pas is also with Gagasan Sejahtera that is joined with Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia. Several others are expected to join.

PPBM Chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that PPBM is open and accepted Pas’ decision.

“We have a pact, if Pakatan Harapan has agreed to join and form a pact, and if it refused, it’s fine, as our door is open to any parties to join,” said Dr Mahathir when met after he attended the Pakatan Harapan talk here today.
