The new leadership structure of Pakatan Harapan's presidential council will collapse because of its new chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his family.

Kedah Umno Youth chief Datuk Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said Dr Mahathir’s 'U Turn' ways especially when dealing with the party’s de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, will be the factor of the collapse in a short time.

"The failure of Pakatan Harapan to name a Prime Minister candidate proves that there exist political mistrust between the allies.

“Everyone knows that the possibility of Anwar becoming the next Prime Minister is very small as he is still serving his sentence as well as his age factor.

"We are also confident that the existence of the ‘Transit 'Prime Minister' shows that there has not been a serious consensus among the PH component parties. Dr Mahathir’s desperation will bring the party’s new hierarchy down,” he told Astro AWANI.

Shaiful was commenting on PH presidential council which named Anwar as de facto leader and Dr Mahathir as the chairman.

Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail was appointed as the president, assisted by three deputies, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (PPBM), Lim Guan Eng (DAP) and Mohamad Sabu (Amanah).

Commenting further, Shaiful said the PH should show an image of stability and a good alternative shadow government for the people.

He said PH should also demonstarte that they would be able to carry out their responsibilities effectively.

“We believe the DAP remains the most influential 'Broker of Power' in PH. They've kept Anwar as the leader and Dr Mahathir as the chairman just to 'buy' the Malay’s political confidence for the upcoming General Election.

"We are confident that if PH becomes the government, the DAP will be the most influential decision maker. This is the most fragile political decision that could be made by the PH.

“They should admit that the issue of who will become Prime Minister of the opposition pact is still a major dispute," he stressed.

He added that PH does not even portray the image of a stable government and or that it is able to handle the administration well.

"If in other countries, the opposition party, at this time, would already selected a candidate for the prime minister’s post and cabinet ministers’ candidates along with certain portfolios.

"However, the opposition party is still at the stage of discussing the issue of seat distribution that has not been resolved," he explained.
