PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu Sunday called for the culture of accusing party members as infidels be curbed before it creates a major problem for the party.

He stressed that the culture could be curbed if every member respected and accepted the differences in opinions voiced by party members.

"This matter is very dangerous and can destroy the party if it is not curbed. We can argue, have different opinions but not to the point of accusing another group of being infidels.

"We will not be able to achieve the level PAS is at now in 20 years if the culture is allowed to proliferate.

"In the past, I had a difference of opinion with Ustaz Abu Bakar Chik (Central PAS Committee member) but we could sit together and draw up numerous programmes to face UMNO and Barisan Nasional," he said when opening Perak PAS's 18th annual general meeting in Seri Iskandar.
