The Citizens' Declaration was made not only to demand the removal of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as Prime Minister, but to ensure that the whole system under Federal Constitution is reformed, said Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.

The Selangor Menteri Besar who also signed the declaration, said that public support is vital and much needed in order to achieve the declaration's objective.

"We must also demand that a comprehensive reform be carried out and the matter is contained in the declaration, that is why we agreed. And if the purpose was solely to rule out the Prime Minister, we wouldn't have come.

"We came with a crystal clear goal that reformation must be implemented in the country's system, including the resignation of Datuk Seri Najib," he said after a handing over of keys ceremony at Villaria Condominium, here, today.

He said a few programs will also be arranged to explain to the people about the declaration apart from gaining support from them.

Last Friday, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad signed a declaration with the country’s former leaders, Opposition leaders, political activists and leaders of non-governmental organizations (NGO).

The declaration which contained four demands, among others calls for the resignation of Najib as the Prime Minister.
