The Selangor State administration will continue to function as usual, said Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin said this following an audience with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Bukit Kayangan in Shah Alam, this morning.

“Tuanku is satisfied with the explanation that the current government intends to continue its commitment to realise the mandate given by the people of Selangor.

“Tuanku has consented that the Selangor administration will function and operate as usual,” Amiruddin said in a statement, today.

Amiruddin during his meeting with the Sultan is believed to explain the current political situation in the state.

He arrived at Istana Bukit Kayangan at 8.50am using an official car and was seen leaving the premises of the Palace about two hours later.

Also present at the meeting were Selangor National Trust chairman, Izham Hashim and Selangor DAP chairman, Gobind Singh Deo.

At the same time, Amirudin also disclosed that he had also met with other state component parties including Ketua Badan Pimpinan Bersatu Selangor, Datuk Abdul Rashid Asar to discuss the political direction of the State.

Currently, Selangor has 56 State Assembly seats (DUN) with a composition of 21 seats controlled by PKR, DAP (16), Amanah (eight), Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (five), Barisan Nasional (five) and PAS (one).
