The election machinery of Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties should change their tactic by focusing on online communication system to get closer to voters in the coming general election, said Deputy BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said the BN cyber troopers should counter and respond to accusations made by the opposition media group.

"Now, we should change tactic by contacting all voters using the online communication system.

"The campaign method has changed, so we must change," he said at special meeting with BN leaders in the Bagan Datuk division here Friday.

Meanwhile, Perak BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, in his speech, called on all members of BN component parties to show their high confidence towards the party leadership in the coming general election.

He likened the coming general election as going to war and as such they should be prepared with confidence and strength to maintain victory for the party.

He said voters in the Bagan Datuk parliamentary constituency should be grateful that the deputy prime minister was from the constituency and such, they should maintain it.

"Imagine if the BN component parties and Friends of BN in Bagan Datuk are all united, not only can we win, but the 2,100 majority votes can be increased," he added. - Bernama
