Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and its allies now have the support of 107 MPs in the Dewan Rakyat – short of the simple majority of 112.

In addition to a group of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) MPs led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, PH also received the support of MPs from Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan), Anwar claimed.

He revealed the number of MPs supporting the coalition called Pakatan Harapan (PH) Plus during a live Facebook session on Wednesday.

"We have come together and we reached an agreement. Whatever the strategy, we are together. The opposition must remain firm with our stand.

“There are currently 107 (MPs in support) in this group. And we will move forward in a team to ensure that the people's mandate is respected,” he said.

On Tuesday, PH leaders met with Dr Mahathir and Warisan president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

After the four-hour meeting, only a brief statement was issued announcing that a decision would be finalized within a week.

Some political observers and analysts, however, were of the opinion that PH had failed in arriving at a consensus in the meeting, thus suggesting PH’s hope of forming the government again is futile.
