Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman will continue to serve as Terengganu Menteri Besar, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said.

He said the decision was made following his audience with the Sultan of Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin yesterday to discuss the state's leadership crisis.

"Yesterday I was granted an audience with Sultan Mizan on the Terengganu MB issue, and as a result, we've decided to allow Ahmad Razif to continue serving as Menteri Besar.

"I hope after this, there will be no more questions or assumptions about his (Ahmad Razif’s) position," Najib told a news conference after launching the national-level Labour Day celebration at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.

He said, the focus right now was to ensure the administration and development in Terengganu run smoothly.

Najib, however, did not elaborate further on his audience with Sultan Mizan.

When asked about the withdrawal of Ahmad Razif’s 'Datuk Seri' title by the Terengganu Sultan, Najib said he was not going to interfere in that issue because matters pertaining to honorific titles was a royal affair.
