YouTube today launched a Ramadhan channel for the festivities of this Raya season.

The channel will feature local content from creators and providers such as Animonsta Studios, Astro, Homegrown Productions, Trymasak and Suria Records.

These five participating partners are contributing as many as 280 unique videos that make up over 130 hours of content for all Malaysians.

“It’s great that this year for the first time we’re working with a partner like Nestle to create a special channel for Ramadan and Raya,” said Google Malaysia country manager Sajith Sivanandan.

“We hope that the YouTube Ramadan channel will become a great showcase of quality local content that reflects the beauty and diversity of Malaysia during the month of Ramadan,” added Sajith.

Google-owned YouTube Malaysia, was launched in March 2012. YouTube Partner Program was launched in December to help Malaysian creators to monetise content.
