A woman who got lost on Gunung Irau, Cameron Highlands since last Saturday has been found safe near a stream on the mountain.

Cameron Highlands district police chief, DSP Hasadid A. Hamid said the woman, Norfatin Sulaiman, 29, was found weak at 2.15pm and sitting among the rocks.

"The search-and-rescue team found her raincoat before the search continued in the surrounding area and finally saw her within 30 minutes, about 200 metres away.

"The victim was found safe without any injury but was slightly weak.

"It is understood that she had sufficient water and food supply.

The woman, a staff of Petronas, had gone on the climb with 47 other climbers at about 5.30pm last Saturday, but got lost while on the way back. -- BERNAMA
