The unscheduled water disruption around the Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur districts is expected to end by tomorrow 10am.

SYABAS Assistant general manager, corporate communications and public affairs, Priscilla Alfred said that remedial works are being carried out at the moment.

"There is a 10% reduction of clean water supply due to the high demands from the both Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur areas as a result of this problem. About 40 places are affected by this problem,” she said.

Priscilla added that 13 water tanks have been allocated for Hulu Langat while another three water tanks have been allocated for Kuala Lumpur area.

Static tanks are also made available to allow temporary water supply for users.

On Friday, several places around Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur experienced unscheduled water disruption and low water pressure.

According to SYABAS, the disruption was cause by an unusual vibration with the raw water pump at the Langat River Water Treatment Plant.

As a result 37,892 accounts or 189,475 users were affected.
