Police today confirmed that the video clip featuring seven students bullying another student that went viral on social media, happened at Asrama Anak Yatim, Kompleks Penyayang Doktor Siti Hasmah in Jejawi, Kangar.

Acting Deputy Inspector General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the case was an old case that was reported in June and that the police had already submitted the investigation report to the Attorney General's office for further action.

"The video clip features seven students, three Form One, two Form Two and two Form Three students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Syed Sirajudin, Jejawi, Perlis assaulting a Year Five student from Sekolah Kebangsaan Kubang Gajah, Arau," he told reporters here.

Mohamad Fuzi said he was made to understand that the victim was beaten up because he had not cleaned the room although it was his turn to do so.

He said police would still carry out an investigation and submit a report to the AG's office although the student's superior had withdrawn the report to settle the case amicably.

The video clip, which has a duration of six minutes and 51 seconds, showed a student being beaten up by a number of youths in a room, believed to be in the hostel of the school.

Speaking of another bullying case that has also gone viral, showing nine students being bullied, Mohamad Fuzi said the location of the school was being investigated.

"A directive has been issued to all state police chiefs to identify schools where bullying cases are rampant," he said when referring to the second video clip which has a duration of four minutes and 37 seconds.

The clip shows a group of boys assaulting nine other boys, believed to be at the dormitory of a school hostel.
