The government has decided to implement Vehicle Entry Permit fee for all foreign cars entering Johor.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the government had come to the decision, following a request by the Johor state, the Star Online reported.

Najib said the government will announce later the date of implementation and the rates.

Speaking at a buka puasa event organised by the Johor state, Najib said he had discussed the matter with his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Yesterday, UMNO Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin had called on the government to impose fee on Singaporean cars entering the Johor state following the republic's decision to increase the VEP fee for vehicles entering the country.
