Police have recorded statements from 30 individuals to facilitate investigation on the leak in the examination papers of this year's Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR).

Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department head, SAC Gan Kong Meng said the 30 individuals comprised eight officers from the Malaysian Examination Board, 19 teachers, an officer from the Education Ministry, an engineer and a journalist.

"Police expect to make more arrest soon. The investigation papers will be referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers in a week," he said in a statement here.

In a related development, 11 of the 14 individuals detained to assist police in the investigation had been released on police bail. The other three individuals are in remand until Monday.

Following the leaks, English papers 014/1 and 014/2 were cancelled after pupils had sat for the papers on Sept 11, while the examinations for the Science 018, 028 and 038 papers were postponed before the pupils could sit for them on the same day.

The Examinations Syndicate has fixed Sept 30 as the new date for the pupils to sit for the examinations in the two subjects.
