A witness described how he saw the suspect slashed the Penang Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student to death in February last year as the murder trial moves to the crime scene yesterday.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Amril Johari said Judicial Commissioner Mohamed Zaini Mazlan, a male witness and some policemen were at KM 228.2 of the North-South Expressway south bound, near Bukit Gantang for about 45 minutes.

A Bernama check found that the accused, Syarafi Abu, 25, was also at the crime scene under close guard in a police vehicle.

The cook was charged with the murder of the student, Nursyuhada Johari, 20, who died at Kuala Kangsar Hospital at about 2pm on Feb 2, 2015.

Mohd Amril prosecuted while Syarafi was represented by counsel Datuk Naran Singh.
