Two suspicious boats believed to be carrying Rohingya refugees as spotted on Thursday, are reported to be approaching Malaysian again.

It is understood that the boats are currently located near the sea borders of Malaysia and Thailand.

Royal Malaysian Navy acting commander of the northern region, Capt Roslee Mohd Isa, said the navy had received information that the two boats were about to cross Malaysia's sea territory.

He did not deny the possibility of the boat using agent services of illegal trafficking syndicates.

"So far, we cannot predict when the boats will be continuing their journey. I believe, due to the involvement of syndicate agents, they are afraid to cross the border," he said when contacted.

"Maybe the passengers in the boat are being threatened by the agents before they can cross the border.

"We hope that Thai military forces will help patrol the area to ease the arresting process," he added.
